PURPOSE & CHAMPIONSHIP SCOPE
The IPL Auction Challenge is a simulation-based strategy event where teams act as IPL franchise owners and build their squads through a live auction. Participants are tested on cricket knowledge, bidding strategy, financial management, and decision-making under pressure. Teams compete to assemble the strongest squad within a fixed budget, with the winner determined by overall team rating.
KEY HIGHLIGHTS
- 01Team Size: Exactly 3 registered members per team.
- 02Team Leader Login: Only the designated Team Leader is allowed to login from their device for Round 1 (Quiz) & Round 2 (Auction).
- 03Round 1 Quiz: Tests IPL knowledge and cricket strategy to shortlist top franchises.
- 04Round 2 Live Auction: Bidding war within a ₹30 Crore purse to assemble the highest-rated squad.
- 05Venue Discipline: Arrive on time; decisions of the organizing committee are final.

RULES AND GUIDELINES
Things To Bring
- College ID Card / Government-issued ID Card: Carry both the original and a photocopy for identity verification and hassle-free entry
- Mobile Phones and Laptops: Ensure all devices are fully charged and carry their respective chargers
- Power Bank and Extension Board: Carry these if required to ensure uninterrupted participation throughout the event.
Team Guidelines
- Each team should consist of exactly 3 members who are registered for the event
- Make sure that all 3 members of the team are present at the venue when the event starts and any changes in team members should be informed in prior to the organizers
- From each team, only one member from the team ('Team Leader') would be allowed to login from their device to participate in the first round and second round (if the team qualifies in the first round)
- Failing to adhere to the guidelines of the IPL Auction organizing committee will result in immediate disqualification.
Auction Rules & Process
- Only two teams can bid at a time; a new team enters bidding only when an active bidder exits
- Minimum Bid Increments: ₹0–1 Cr (₹10L)
- ₹1–2 Cr (₹20L)
- ₹2 Cr+ (₹30L)
- Player flow: Slide shown (Name, Rating, Role, Base Price) → Bidding starts → Highest bidder wins → Amount deducted from purse → Player added to squad
- Teams must remain within the ₹30 Crore purse with maximum squad constraints.
Venue Discipline and Safety
- The rules decided by the organizing committee are final in case of any disagreement
- All participants will be informed with the exact timings of IPL Auction in advance by the organizing committee
- All participating teams are expected to reach the venue on time (the organizing committee will not be liable in case of disqualification due to late arrival).
Disqualification
- A team may be disqualified for: Attempting multiple logins from one team
- Attempts of cheating in the QUIZ ROUND
- Attempt to disrupt the flow of the IPL Auction event
- Attempts to argue unnecessarily with the organizing committee members without any valid reason.
EVALUATION CRITERIA
Total team rating calculated as the sum of ratings of all successfully purchased players. The franchise with the highest total rating wins.
Strategic allocation of the ₹30 Crore budget without exceeding constraints or violating bidding increment intervals.
If total ratings are tied: (1) Higher remaining purse (2) Highest-rated individual player (3) Fewer players used to achieve rating.
